Traditional Mexican papier mache doll. Know as Lupitas, this dolls have made little girls very happy for more than a century. It is a trade taken over by low quality toys. Artist Leticia Rodarte learned this trade from her aunt who used to make papier mache toys and fruits. Later on Letty refined hers skills under the tutelage of Otomi descent papuer Mache artist Osvaldo Ruelas. Good quality Lupita dolls are very time consuming therefore, making one take time, and lots of patience. A work that not eveybody appreciates, and wants to pay.  But, there is always who appreciates the labor and love that goes into the creation of these pieces of art .
